First Tourney

My first tournament of the 2012 season (& "Career") was the "Pureflight Disc Golf & Ultimate Presents : Valley Free Radio Disc Golf Tournament. It was a Doubles (Partner) Tourney I played up in NorthHampton, Ma.

My Boy (Partner) MikeV & I woke Up early, Running on NO! Sleep because of a sick night the day before @ Umass Amherst. Anyways we got there early so we would be able to get a warm up round in, Loosen our arms, & so I can get a idea of the course. (Haven't Played Up Until This Point). Warm up round was in & we were ready to go. First Round, 9:30am Tee Time. MikeV & I shot a 52 (-2). At the time, Only 6 Strokes behind 2 teams Co-Leading in the Am1 Divison. Subway for Lunch & we were back @ Noho. Ready for a Round 2, 1:30pm Tee Time.  Happily Sittin Towards the end of the leader board.

You probably can't read it, but our card is the top one in the Hole 6 pocket. Lack of sleep, Tired, 3rd round of the day, Mikev smoked some weed (which he never does), & the vibe was missing in round 2 (of the tourney). Shooting a 59 (+5) for the second round. Not what we wanted but I had fun Regardless, I didn't expect to win the whole thing. MikeV walked out with two "Closiest to the Pin" (CTP) Prizes. (& that goes for everyone in the tourney, both rounds). He Traded a sweatshirt, he won for a PureFlight Hat & He won a Gift Certificate to a record store. I walked out with Am2 Status, (Tourney expierence) & Many Tips Learned / Picked up from the Other Disc Golfer's. Either Way it was a Great Time. I'd play something Like this in a heart beat.
